Huntley, Vickie

My name is Vickie Huntley, and I currently serve as the deputy warden at the Mississippi Correctional Institute for Women. I have worked with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for more than 14 years, beginning my career in 2011 as a correctional officer trainee and advancing through the ranks.

Throughout my tenure, I have progressed from correctional officer trainee to captain over the disciplinary department, and now to deputy warden. I have consistently demonstrated strong leadership, sound judgment, and a commitment to both safety and rehabilitation within the facility.

My daily responsibilities have included supervising staff and inmates, responding to critical incidents, managing conflict, investigating allegations, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and procedures. I have also worked closely with multidisciplinary teams, such as the Correctional Investigation Division, to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Through my experience, I have developed expertise in crisis intervention, incident management, staff supervision, and policy enforcement. These opportunities have provided me with the operational insight, interpersonal skills, and professional integrity essential to my current role.

I take pride in using my experience to enforce institutional policies and procedures while promoting a safe environment at MCIW. As I continue to grow with MDOC, I hope to gain additional knowledge and wisdom to better serve in my role and encourage others to do the same.
