The MDOC Workforce Development Team believes reentry planning begins on day one of incarceration. The prospect of securing employment, housing, health care, and a myriad of tasks, such as obtaining vital documents, can be daunting, particularly for those who have been out of the labor market for a number of years.

The MDOC Workforce Development Team prepares returning citizens with the skills, connections and opportunities they will need to successfully reenter their communities. Connecting returning citizens prior to their release with Career Training and Education, Career Services, and other community connections provide opportunities to access services while reducing barriers to successful reentry.

The MDOC Workforce Development Team collaborates with the MDOC Community Corrections Reentry Team and MDOCWorks to help provide as many resources as possible to our returning citizens.
