CAREER TRAINING AND INDUSTRY-RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATIONS

Inmates automotive repair and maintenance

MDOC Workforce Development Team provides the following industry-recognized certifications:

  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCCER) Certification 
    • Provide industry-recognized credentials for those working in the construction, maintenance, and pipeline industries. 
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification
    • Demonstrate a mechanic’s skills and expertise in different areas of automotive repair and maintenance. 
  • Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC) Certification
    • Verifies individuals have acquired the entry-level technical knowledge and skills necessary to service and maintain small engines. 
  • ServSafe Certification
    • Verifies that an individual has sufficient food safety knowledge.
  • ACT Workkeys National Career Readiness (NCRC) Certification 
    • Measures and certifies the essential work skills needed for success in jobs across industries and occupations. 

These industry-recognized certification programs may include but are not limited to: forklift training, logistics, small engine repair, welding, and culinary arts.
