JACKSON – A state inmate who walked off a work detail May 31 at Tatum Park in Hattiesburg is now back in custody.
Anthony Boyd Lamar, #K3222, was arrested Monday by a Hattiesburg police officer after Lamar was spotted walking down a sidewalk on a city street. MDOC was subsequently notified of his arrest.
Lamar, 56, who was assigned to the Forrest County Community Work Center, has been returned to prison. He faces an escape charge, and, if convicted, could receive an additional five years. He is currently serving a 16-year sentence for residential burglary in Copiah County. He was sentenced on July 18, 2016.
