JACKSON –Dennis Farrell Blansett, who escaped a work detail in Lincoln County on Monday, is back in custody.
Blansett, 46, was arrested by MDOC officers about 10:45 a.m. Thursday at a house in Foxworth.
Blansett, MDOC #216595, was housed at the Pike County Community Work Center in Magnolia when he fled. He is now in prison at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County and faces an escape charge.
He has been serving 30 years for six convictions, including five counts of nonresidential burglary and one count theft of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced March 23, 2018, in Marion County.
In addition to Mississippi Department of Corrections’ staff with the Corrections Investigation Division, the Special Response Team, and CMCF K-9 officers, the MDOC appreciates the help of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Washington Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana, and the Bogue Chitto Police Department in Blansett’s capture without incident.
