Escapee captured: Michael Floyd Wilson is in custody

The manhunt for Michael Floyd Wilson came to an end earlier today after he escaped from the state prison in Rankin County.
Wilson, 51, escaped the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility during the weekend and was apprehended today in Harrison County.
Wilson, MDOC #29893, is serving life on three of eight convictions, including two homicides/murders, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, burglary and escape, in Jackson, Harrison, and Greene counties.
Wilson previously escaped the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville on July 5, 2018, and was recaptured slightly more than two days later in Ocean Springs. He was subsequently convicted Feb. 27, 2020 of escape and sentenced as a habitual offender.
