JACKSON – Escaped state inmate Antonio Henderson is now being held in a Louisiana jail.
Henderson, 23, was captured Tuesday night without incident on I-10 in Lake Charles, LA.
A Louisiana state trooper arrested him after responding to a 911 call received at 9:24 p.m. about someone matching Henderson's description on the interstate.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections had been searching for Henderson since April 20, when he escaped while on a work detail in Pike County. He fled in a white 2005 GMC truck belonging to the town of Summit.
Henderson now faces additional charges both in Mississippi and Louisiana.
At the time of his escape, he was assigned to the Pike County Community Work Center. He received two years to serve and three years’ probation for grand larceny in Leflore County when sentenced in November 2016.
